The present article was carried out a narrative-systemic revision of the Behavioral Cognitive Therapy of Drug Addictions. This constitutes a revision of the theoretical postulates about the emotional, cognitive and behavioral processes in people who use drugs. The initial bases of cognitive behavioral therapy allows us to recognize the frame of reference of the understanding of the phenomenon of addictive behaviors, and why these are perpetuated in the psychological mechanisms of the person. As well as recognizing the efficacy of what has been the therapy in addiction rehabilitation par excellence. Although epistemological questioning may arise, its therapeutic, interpretative and intervention capacity in behavioral modification and cognitive thematic restructuring, including the emergent emotional change, is undeniable. The process of changing addictive behaviors, the acquisition of new behaviors or the reassessment of thoughts is an interesting object of study, contains elements of relevance such as attitudes, beliefs, self-efficacy and feelings among others, which reveal the complexity of this problem and therefore the level of expertise of psychological interventions. It is very important to know how, when, why and for what people change.
